GovEx

The Center for Government Excellence at Johns Hopkins creates sustainable open data programs to help governments understand and leverage data to initiate urban study and ignite change. The purpose of their new site was to create a hub of open data digested into case studies, success stories and innovative solutions that position the center as a thought-leader and a valuable resource. Designed and built responsively the site has a wealth of information for users to explore with search easily accessible, and content front and center in “cards”, which easily translates across all devices. Quick calls to action in the header allow for new users to learn more about open data, find sources, and ask a question.

My role in this project began during the design phase. I was one of two designers who worked on the project each of us presented our own unique concepts and designs for how GovEx’s site should be approached.
